Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) is a permanent resident visa for skilled workers or candidates who want to work and live in Australia.

Eligibility/Requirements

• Nominating Occupation on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)

• Obtained positive skill assessment outcome from relevant skill assessing authority
• Must be under 45 to be invited
• At least competent English
• Achieved the score specified in your letter of invitation based on the factors in the points test

Procedures

1. Pre-assessment for point testing, must have at least 65 points
2. Meeting all eligibility requirements
3. Lodge Expression of Interest (EOI) via Skill Select
4. Wait to EOI invitation
5. Receive EOI invitation
6. Lodge Subclass 189 visa application via ImmiAccount within 60 days’ of EOI invitation
7. Receive visa grant notification from the Department of Home Affairs

Secondary Applicant over 18 years old: $2025
Secondary Applicant under 18 years old: $1010
