What is Distinguished Talent?

The applicant must be internationally recognized for exceptional and outstanding achievement in a profession, in arts, sports or research and still active in the field of expertise. These applicants are potential assets for the Australian society and can easily obtain employment or achieve accomplishment in their expertise in Australia.

Basic requirement

As the Distinguished Talent visa applicant, you must meet the following requirements to be eligible for this visa:

You are internationally recognized for exceptional and outstanding achievement in a profession, arts, sports and research or academia and still make outstanding contributions in your expertise area.

You must be considered a potential asset to the Australian community (able to show how your settlement in Australia could contribute economically, socially or culturally to the nation as a whole – not just a local community). At the same time, you must show that you can easily gain work opportunities or achieve accomplishment in their expertise in Australia.

If you are below 18 or above 55 years of age, you must fulfil the above requirements and provide evidence that you are financially independent and would be of exceptional benefit to the Australian community.

If you are under 18 years of age, you can include one of your parents and father or mother’s family members in the application.

You must be nominated for this visa by an Australian organisation, an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen. The nominator must have a national reputation in your field of expertise. The nominator must be able to verify that you have international standing in your field of expertise.

In the same time, all applicants must meet health and character requirements.
