Business Visa Types

This is a 5-year temporary visa (if apply from July 1, 2021), for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and financial backing from a third party. This visa lets you carry out entrepreneurial activities in Australia. This visa is only available to applicants who are nominated by an Australian State or Territory government. To be nominated, the applicant must lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Skill Select system. You must meet below requirements:

• Be under 55 years of age (or meet age waive requirement)
• Have competent English
• Nominated by a state or territory government
• Be undertaking, or proposing to undertake, a complying entrepreneur activity in Australia with genuine intention to continue.

The complying entrepreneur activity must relate to an innovative idea that will lead to:

• the commercialisation of a product or service in Australia, or
• the development of an enterprise or business in Australia

This activity must not relate to any of the following categories:

• residential real estate
• labour hire
• purchase of an existing enterprise or a franchise in Australia

After having resided in Australia for at least 2 years of the 4 years that you have held this visa, and being sponsored by a state or territory government, you will qualify for a permanent residence through the Business Innovation and Investment (Residence) Subclass 888 visa.
