Immigration department has updated the information of the second invitation round of May. It shows that accountants, ICT, software and application programmers have reached their ceilings. New quotas will be leased in June for the 2016-17 programme year.

The following occupation groups have reached their ceilings; no more invitations will be issued during the 2015-16 programme year：

• 2211 – Accountants
• 2212 – Auditors, Company Secretaries and CorporateTreasures
• 2335 – Industrial, Mechanical and Production Engineers
• 2339 – Other Engineering Professionals
• 2611 – ICT Business and Systems Analysts
• 2613 – Software and Applications Programmers
• 2631 – Computer Network and Systems Engineers

Information Summary

1. General Accountants: Invitation score was 65 on 25th of May.
2. This invitation round has invited 345 for accountants. All the quotas have finished for the 2015-16 programme year.
3. 2611 ICT business and System Analysts still need 70 to get invitation letter, all the quotas have finished for the 2015-16 programme year.
4. 2613 Software and Application Programmers still 65 to get invitation letter, all the quotas have finished for the 2015-16 programme year.
5. Non-high ranking occupations remain the same 60 points to get invitation letter.

Detailed Analysis

This invitation round, the main applicants who are 60 and 65 points have received the invitation letter and applicants who have 60 points occupy a major part. These applicants are mainly nominating as engineer, nurse and computer network and etc. The department processing time has accelerated.

Due to high levels of demand, these occupation groups will be subject to pro rata arrangements to ensure availability of invitations across the programme year.

3. Software Programmers still remain 65 points in order to get invitation letter, the processing time is must faster now.

Special Reminder, Immigration department has released the two invitation round date in June which is on 8th and 22nd of June respectively. AEMS will keep focusing on it and provide students first analysis.

Accountants

This invitation round shows that 65 points is enough to get invitation letter, which is surely a good news. However, due to accountants reached its occupation ceilings, no more invitation will be issued for the 2015-16 programme year. According to the updated SOL, the coming programme year, accountant is still on the list. AEMS predict there will be roughly around 2700 quotas. Still recommend students to get higher score as much as you can.

• IELTS (7 on each band) = 10 points
• NAATI= 5 points
• PY (professional year program) = 5 points
• 1-year Australia employment = 5 points
• State Nomination =5 points
• Partner (meet all requirements) =5 points

Keep focusing on External Auditor

Although the quotas of External Auditor have reached its ceiling, AEMS predicts there will be roughly around 1000 quotas the coming programme year. Because that External Auditor is not a Pro rata basis, applicants with 60 points normally can receive invitation letter.

Therefore, students who want to nominate as an external auditor. Please do not forget the unit of auditing which is an essential unit to pass skill assessment as an External Auditor.

Engineering and ICT

2611 ICT business analyst and system analyst, only those applicants with 70 got the invitation letter. Also 2613 software programmers and developer programmer applicants with 65 points received invitation letter. What’s more, these two majors’ quotas has reached occupation ceiling.

Reminder: some develop programmer applicants applied State nomination with only 60 points and received the invitation after two days of submission. This is highly recommended for the other developer programmer students to try.

Also, from the official data, it indicated that the quotas for 2631 Computer Network Professionals have been finished.

For engineering students

60 points is sufficient to get invited. The processing time is also rather fast. Only suggestion is to achieve 60 points and submit your EOI ASAP.
